The event, primarily aimed at students and recent graduates from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), had the main objective of showcasing the most in-demand profiles in the IT sector. The event took place this morning at the AXPE Consulting headquarters, located at Arturo Soria 122 (Madrid), with more than twenty young attendees.
The purpose of this meeting was to inform the young attendees about the profiles that IT consulting firms like AXPE and General are currently looking for. Qualified profiles with knowledge in Salesforce, DevOps, Big Data, Business Intelligence, Cisco, RPA, Cloud, .NET, Java, Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Oracle, among others, are some of the most in-demand today. Talent acquisition and retention are key issues for success in consulting companies.
This topic was precisely addressed by Ricardo Ferruz, Operations Director at AXPE Consulting. His presentation was the first, and it focused on the Expert Centers that AXPE Consulting has recently created. These are committees focused on research that offer a career plan oriented towards technology. Attracting and retaining talent are the main principles of these Expert Centers.
Marcos Moreno, Business Development Manager for the Industry and Energy areas, was the next speaker. Among the functions carried out in this department, Marcos highlighted those related to client contact, detecting their needs, and presenting a proposal to address the concerns of these clients.
Arturo Fernández de Velasco, Consultant in the R&D department of AXPE Consulting, explained how different projects work, such as IT or IOT (Internet of Things). In this department, it is common to work with the European Consortium to obtain public funding.
The last speaker was Jairo Madrigal, HR Consultant at General Software. During his presentation, he emphasized the importance of talent in the company. “We seek long-term based on a career plan (..) The reality is that we are growing and we need talent.” These were some of the most notable words from his intervention.
To close the event, the young attendees introduced themselves to the companies to present their resumes and showed a strong willingness to work in the IT Consulting sector.
Both AXPE and General are two independent consulting firms with extensive experience in the IT sector. They currently have projects in the areas of Banking, Insurance, Telecommunications, Public Administration, Industry, and Energy. Some of the most notable clients include Banco Santander, BBVA, ING Direct, El Corte Inglés, Fundación INCIBE, ISDEFE, and INECO.
